Boys Against Lethargic Language Systems

Roger Snell and young Duncan displaying the proper attitude while wearing a new B.A.L.L.S. t-shirt.

The idea for Boys Against Lethargic Language Systems (B.A.L.L.S.) first came about after a reading at the Poetry Center, when Roger, Michael Smoler, and I went to a cafe and talked about the local poetry scene, trying to figure out what was missing, what it needed. We decided what it needed, most of all, was a new acronym-based organization that was all about the guys, and were inspired in this by Sarah Rosenthal's B.O.A.S. (Bitches of All Sizes), which had just published a small anthology. So we came up with a proper name for ourselves, and now I'm proud to offer these T-shirts, made by a local artist from American T-shirts, with a phosphorescent-based ink that glows in the dark. They're available in a large size which fits the "average male." If you'd like to join today and receive your free t-shirt, send a check for $12 to
